Shower Screen Replacement and Repairs
Cracked glass, a door that won’t close or a screen that has simply had its day? We repair and replace shower screens across Campbelltown and South West Sydney, with new screens built to measure in our own factory.
Repair or Replace Your Shower Screen?
Not every tired shower screen needs to come out. Casse Glass has been building and fixing shower screens since 2002, so we can tell you honestly whether a repair will do the job or whether a new screen is the better spend.
When a repair makes sense
A repair is usually the answer when the glass is sound and the problem is in the moving parts: a door that has dropped and drags on the tiles, a pivot that has worked loose, a sliding door that jumps its track, or a seal that no longer keeps the water in.
When replacement is the better option
- The glass is cracked, chipped or has shattered. Toughened glass cannot be cut, patched or polished out once it is damaged.
- The frame is corroded, or the aluminium has pitted and lifted around the base.
- It is an older builder-grade screen that keeps leaking no matter how often it is adjusted.
- You are updating the bathroom and want a frameless, semi-frameless or different hardware finish.
We check the screen, walls and shower base when we measure and quote, and tell you which way we recommend and why.
Shower Screen Glass Replacement
Broken shower glass is a safety problem first. Shower screens in Australia must use Grade A safety glass to AS/NZS 2208, which is why a damaged panel cannot be re-cut or repaired. It has to be replaced with a new toughened panel made to the exact size of the opening.
Whether you need a single new panel or a complete new screen depends on the screen itself: its age, the condition of the frame and hardware, and whether matching parts are still made. We check all of this when we measure and quote, and tell you which option makes sense. Where a complete new screen is the better fix, we build it in 6mm or 10mm toughened glass, made to fit your existing opening.
If your shower glass has shattered
- Keep everyone, especially children and pets, out of the bathroom.
- Do not try to pull loose pieces out of the frame by hand. Toughened glass breaks into small cubes, but the edges still cut.
- Call us on 1300 063 300. Our glass repair service runs 7 days a week.
Shower Door and Screen Repairs
Small faults get worse the longer they are left. A door that drags puts strain on the hinges, and a leaking seal lets water sit at the base of the screen and find its way under the tiles.
Common problems we are asked about
- Doors that have dropped, drag on the tiles or won’t close properly.
- Sliding doors that stick or jump off their track.
- Water leaking past the door or around the base of the screen.
- Loose or broken handles, hinges and brackets.
- Cracked, chipped or shattered glass.
Tell us what is happening, ideally with a photo of the screen, and we’ll let you know whether it can be repaired or whether a replacement is the better option. Parts for some older and imported screens are no longer made, so if a repair isn’t practical we’ll say so up front and quote a new screen instead, so you’re not paying for a fix that won’t last.

How Shower Screen Replacement Works
- Free measure and quote. We come out, check the old screen, the walls and the shower base, and measure the opening. Walls and bases are rarely perfectly square, so we measure every job ourselves.
- Choose your screen. Pick the style, door type and hardware finish. You get a fixed price before anything is built.
- Built in our factory. Your new screen is made to measure in our Campbelltown workshop, not adapted from an off-the-shelf kit. Building in house means we are not waiting on an outside supplier.
- Remove and install. Our team removes the old screen and installs your new one, built to align with the walls and seal correctly at the base.
- Aftercare. We show you how to look after the glass and hardware so it stays clear and runs smoothly for years.
On our recent Currans Hill job, both of the home’s old screens were built in the workshop at the same time and installed in a single visit.
What Does Shower Screen Replacement Cost?
Fixed prices, built to measure in Campbelltown
Every job is quoted after we measure, but our published supply-only prices give you a starting point. These are for a semi-frameless screen in 6mm toughened glass at the standard 2000mm height:
- Front only: from $460 + GST
- Front only sliding: from $530 + GST
- Front and return, 900 x 900mm: from $527 + GST
- Diamond entry, 900 x 900mm: from $552 + GST
- Front and return sliding, 900 x 900mm: from $597 + GST
Installation, removal of the old screen, frameless designs, screens taller than 2000mm and out-of-square cuts are priced on top. A replacement glass panel or a repair is quoted on the size and thickness of the glass and the parts needed. Either way, you get a fixed price before we start.
Prefer to fit it yourself? We also sell supply-only custom screens built to your measurements.

Shower Screen Replacement FAQs
Can you replace just the glass in my shower screen?
It depends on the screen. The age of the screen, the condition of the frame and hardware, and whether matching parts are still available all make a difference. We’ll check when we measure and tell you whether a new panel or a complete new screen is the better option.
What if my shower screen was installed by someone else?
Send us a photo of the screen and a description of the problem. We’ll let you know whether it can be repaired or whether a replacement is the better option, and quote accordingly.
How much does it cost to replace a shower screen?
Our supply-only semi-frameless screens start from $460 + GST for a front-only screen and $527 + GST for a 900 x 900mm front and return. Installation and removal of the old screen are added once we have measured, and you get a fixed price before we build.
Is it cheaper to repair or replace a shower screen?
It depends on the fault. A worn part is usually a smaller job than a new screen, provided the right part is still available. When the glass is damaged, the frame is corroded or the screen keeps leaking after adjustment, replacement is usually the better long-term spend.
How long does a shower screen replacement take?
Because we build every screen in our own Campbelltown factory, we don’t wait on outside suppliers. Once you approve the quote we’ll give you a build and install date.
What should I do if my shower glass shatters?
Keep everyone out of the bathroom, don’t try to pull loose pieces out by hand, and call us on 1300 063 300. Our glass repair team works 7 days a week.
What glass do you use in replacement shower screens?
All our shower screens use Grade A toughened safety glass to AS/NZS 2208: 6mm for our semi-frameless range and 10mm for frameless screens.
Can I buy a replacement screen and install it myself?
Yes. We offer supply-only screens built to your measurements, with published prices for standard sizes. Send us your measurements or a diagram and we’ll quote it.
