Toughened Glass Shower Screens
Every shower screen installed by Casse Glass is made with toughened safety glass that meets Australian Standards. If you are upgrading your bathroom or replacing an old screen, toughened glass gives you a shower screen that is stronger, safer, and built to last. We supply and install custom toughened glass shower screens across Sydney, with every screen built to order at our Campbelltown workshop.
What Is Toughened Glass?
Toughened glass (also called tempered glass) goes through a thermal treatment process that heats the glass to over 600°C and then rapidly cools it. This process changes the structure of the glass, making it four to five times stronger than standard annealed glass of the same thickness.
If toughened glass does break, it shatters into small, blunt pieces rather than large jagged shards. This is what makes it a safety glass, and it is the reason Australian Standards require it in wet areas like bathrooms and shower enclosures.
All Casse Glass shower screens use A-grade toughened glass that is manufactured and tested to comply with AS/NZS 2208, the Australian Standard for safety glazing in buildings. This standard covers the performance requirements for glass used in areas where human contact is likely, including shower screens, doors, and low-level panels.
Why Toughened Glass Matters in Your Bathroom
Your bathroom is one of the most high-traffic areas in your home. Wet floors, steam, temperature changes, and daily use all put pressure on your shower screen. Standard glass is not designed to handle these conditions safely.
Toughened glass shower screens are built for this environment. They resist impact, handle temperature shifts without cracking, and meet the safety requirements set out for wet areas in residential and commercial buildings. For families with young children or pets, toughened glass provides peace of mind. The breakage pattern of small granular pieces significantly reduces the risk of serious injury compared to ordinary glass.
Beyond safety, toughened glass also holds up better over time. It resists scratching and maintains its clarity, keeping your shower screen looking clean and new for years.
Our Toughened Glass Shower Screen Range
Casse Glass offers toughened safety glass across our full shower screen range:
Semi Frameless Shower Screens use 6mm toughened glass with a premium aluminium frame for added support. Available in pivot door and sliding door configurations, with a wide range of frame colours. Our semi frameless shower screens are built in-house, giving us full control over quality at every stage.
Frameless Shower Screens use 10mm toughened glass for a clean, modern look with minimal hardware. The thicker glass provides the structural strength needed to stand without a full frame, creating an open and spacious feel in any bathroom. View our frameless shower screens for more detail on configurations and pricing.
Fully Framed Shower Screens use toughened glass enclosed in a full aluminium frame. This is a practical, cost-effective option that works well in family bathrooms and rental properties where durability and budget are the main priorities.
Every configuration, whether it is a front-only panel, a front and return, or a diamond entry, is made with the same A-grade toughened safety glass.
How We Build Your Shower Screen
Casse Glass is a family-owned business that has been operating since 2002, with three generations of experience in the glass industry. We handle everything from measurement through to installation.
Step 1: Measurement and Quote. Contact us with your bathroom dimensions or book a site visit. Our team will discuss your layout, preferences, and budget, then provide a fixed-price quote so you know exactly what you are paying before we start.
Step 2: Custom Manufacturing. Your shower screen is built to your exact measurements at our Campbelltown workshop. We do not use off-the-shelf panels. Every screen is cut, processed, and assembled to fit your specific bathroom layout.
Step 3: Installation. Our installation team fits your new shower screen with precision, making sure everything is level, sealed, and operating smoothly. We take care of removing your old screen if needed.
Because we manufacture in-house, we have direct control over the quality of every shower screen that leaves our workshop. There is no middleman and no generic sizing. Your screen is made for your bathroom.

Who This Is For
Toughened glass shower screens suit a wide range of situations:
- Homeowners renovating a bathroom who want a screen that meets current safety standards
- Families replacing older framed screens that have corroded, started leaking, or no longer close properly
- Property managers and landlords upgrading rental bathrooms with durable, compliant glass
- Builders and tradespeople who need a reliable supplier for new residential projects across Sydney
If your current shower screen was installed before toughened glass became standard, it may not comply with AS/NZS 2208. Replacing it with a toughened glass screen brings your bathroom up to current safety requirements.
