More on Blair Athol
Blair Athol is a residential suburb in the City of Campbelltown, located about 57 kilometres south-west of the Sydney CBD in the Macarthur region. The suburb is bordered by Campbelltown to the east and Blairmount to the west, with Campbelltown Station less than a kilometre away.
The area has a long history. British settlers established farms and orchards here in the early 19th century. The original Blair Athol homestead was built in 1879 by John Kidd, who named it after the village of Blair Atholl in Scotland. After decades of industrial zoning, the land was rezoned for residential development in 1992, and the suburb as it stands today was established through the mid to late 1990s.
Blair Athol covers approximately 0.9 square kilometres with around 860 homes and a population of about 2,700 residents. The median age is 32 years, and households are predominantly couples with children. The suburb has a multicultural community, with significant populations born in the Philippines, India, Fiji, and other nations alongside Australian-born residents. Around 77 per cent of homes are owner-occupied.
The suburb sits close to Campbelltown's commercial centre, giving residents access to Macarthur Square shopping, medical facilities, schools, and transport connections. Blair Athol itself has six parks covering about 20 per cent of the suburb, and nearby schools include Thomas Reddall High School and several primary schools within the Campbelltown district.
With an established housing stock now 25 to 30 years old, Blair Athol is a suburb where fixtures are being replaced and homes are being updated. Bathrooms, kitchens, and windows are the areas where homeowners are investing, and the demand for quality glass work is consistent year-round.
